hello hello!!
so on day three of our adventure to NYC we got some sad news... our house in the DR was broken into. quite a bit was stolen, like a fridge, stove, all appliances, drills, etc. Oh and light bulbs. So they took their time while stealing. what makes us angry is that no one heard it when there are three guards in a block radius or less. there is a guard with a shot gun right over the wall, so i"m just pissed that no one heard it. Another thing that makes us angry is that the window that they used to come in the house is so small and the bars make it nearly impossible to enter that they had to use a kid and when he entered he opened the doors from the inside out to let them in. So we had many mixed emotions yesterday and were kind of in a slump.
So we went to a vintage button, pin, ribbon and lace etc store and usually I would be bouncing off the walls I was reserved and my mind was elsewhere. But we traveled from Maryland, to Pennsylvania right on into New Jersey yesterday and we have called the place we are staying and asked if it would be OK if we came a day earlier to avoid all the traffic for 4th of July weekend.
So tomorrow we see that 1st place we will be staying till the 12th. which I'm estactic for it sounds great, big and close to the financial district and tribeca. The owner of that apartment is a drummer for a Latin band or something, so he is on tour and letting us stay in his apartment!
Where we are staying in New jersey is beautiful, nice older stone house with a great big wooded green back yard that I have fallen in love with. Oh and I saw my very 1st chipmunk yesterday and now I wasn't one as a pet! my parents object but I will have one at some point in my life! there is ivy growing and sun shinning through the trees it seems like a secluded magical land behind a stone home.
We have lots of plans in the city! seeing friends we haven't seen in long time and friends from Sarasota who will be coming to the city that we will meet up with, so we have lots of exciting things!
check back tomorrow late or tomorrow might for a new update! much love

hello again!
so yesterday we took the auto train from Florida to Virginia.. there was some time where I honestly thought I could drive faster then the train as going; or that children to ride a bike faster then our speed. We boarded at 3:00 and ate at 9 on the train, but we had a great eating partner a man who was a New York Supreme Court Judge in NYC and lives by the Hudson. He was nice and informative. Sleeping on the train was a chore, the doors constantly opening and lights always on, at least the small child was sound asleep. On the train I contacted (posted on their fb pages) two teachers who taught me hat making at Penland School of Crafts, I knew they lived in Virginia and then I discovered that they live in Petersburg, which we happened to be going through at 6 or 7 ish this morning. Passing through picturesque towns were great, looked like movie sets. We passed through Quantico Virginia - home of FBI training facility and the Marine Corps main base and training facility and where the chopper for the president lives as well as the operators for the chopper. Looked like an interesting place (if only Shemar Moore really was there for the t.v show Criminal Minds.) Anyway all I could think about was a bed and a shower. We did realize there was a Frank Lloyd Wright house 8 min from the train station, but they aren't open on Mondays.. I wanted to go and say we drove all the way from Florida to see the house but for got once we got off, Oh well another trip!
We got off the train and drove to visit my late grand mothers last surviving family member (one of her sisters) she was a hoot, losing her memory for sure, but she is nice as can be and misses my grandmother for sure. They talked # times a day and now she calls us that often, so she misses the companionship. During lunch I felt I was still on the train, had the train spins (or whatever they are called). DC is very confusing we got on a road and then turned around 2 times and finally figured out, we also got hit with a massive rain storm and could only see for a few cars ahead, if even, we were on the edge of our seats. We ended up coming up to Fredrick MD to visit some long time friends. We had a great time walking around the town and having a great dinner. It is such a nice feeling to see friends who we haven't seen in a while.
Now back in hotel and blogging! oh and I forgot to mention my birthday went great! we went out to dinner the 26th - which happened to be our last night in fl(for a few months) and the night before our train ride..don't really feel a day older, but that is every birthday that most of us feel that way.
Miss you all and Ill keep blogging!

hi all!
All is well here in florida, I have been working at the Asolo before leaving, to make some money before I go (to then go shopping in NYC!). While there I have been working on some designes by Eduardo Singcago, for the Opera Areadne de Naxos (spelling might be off), and working makeing some great garments! I made a bathing suit.. super cute! and a huge skirt of a dress 24 ft long train with a million ruffles- ok mayeb more like the hundreds, but It took 6 days of sewing 9-5 daily to finish it! Looks amazing! unfortunately only going to be worn for 4 performances. Anyway all is well!
So im here at my computer on fathers day with exactly a week away from going to NYC! Im nervous and excited at the very same time! I have so much to do before I leave, like start this blog, pack and doc apts! I have started to pull some clothing items aside, I have been told Cotton, will be the way to go! but I also want to look cute so not every thing is cotton, but I will be looking fab! I do know roughly what I will be doing! I will be runing to and from fabric stores, running errands, getting coffee; I will mostly be outside all day long in the city being a go getter! I will be using my baby snatcher for my days as I have been told a big bag with room and everything I need from 8:30am - 6 pm . I havent realy looked for another bag, that is more stylish, so I will use it till I find something cooler and better (which my mom will be so happy when I find it!) I dont think I will be taking many pictures of what I'm working on, or who i meet but I will do my best! Oh! I forgot the most important info I wil be working on "Leap of Faith", a new "Chicago "(I dont know where it will be if it is a whole new show or if it is just a guest role replacement)and "Henry the VIII" (i believe that is 8th) So im super stoked!
Much love and will write again soon! XOX
